In the first quarter of 2025, several communication apps stood out in Russia, showcasing varying trends in downloads, revenue, and active users. Here’s a closer look at the performance of these apps based on data from Sensor Tower.

Telegram experienced a fluctuating trend in weekly revenue, beginning with a high of approximately $676K and settling around $616K by the end of March. Downloads saw a general decline, starting from 565K and dropping to 322K. Active users remained quite stable, hovering around 114M throughout the quarter.

WhatsApp Messenger maintained a consistent user base with active users fluctuating slightly above 110M. Weekly downloads decreased from 371K to 179K, showing a downward trend.
